In addition, it was beneficial to have a supportive atmosphere from professors where I could get help easily. Furthermore, Lane has a supportive program for international students. What was your favorite class at Lane and why?
My favorite class that I took at Lane was all the business classes. The reasons why I liked these classes are that they allowed me to be involved in case studies, group projects, and discussions that simulate real business scenarios. I believe that this taught me problem-solving and decision-making based on real-world challenges, which is going to be essential to know in the business field.
Additionally, I think these classes opened up a wide range of career opportunities and pathways for my future. Through the classes, I found the versatility of business education appealing because it equips me with transferable skills that can be used in various professions and industries. As I mentioned earlier, taking business courses is beneficial since students can learn useful skills for their careers.
Any advice for incoming international students?
One piece of advice that I would give other international students will be to balance school and personal life. It is crucial because it can enhance mental health, improve academic performance, and possibly foster personal growth.
To achieve this balance, I prioritize time management, set goals, and know my capacity. I believe that these are essential to balance both your academic and personal life. In addition, it is essential to take breaks during study time, to engage in physical activity. Personally, I play soccer regularly and it helps me to maintain my health and stress. I think that it is important to study hard, but at the same time have fun as well.
