Amazon launches massive holiday hiring drive

Two days ago, Amazon announced its plans to hire 250,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees across its U.S. customer fulfillment and transportation operations for the upcoming holiday season. This massive recruitment drive aims to meet the increased demand during the busiest shopping period of the year.

Amazon is investing $2.2 billion in additional pay for its fulfillment and transportation employees. According to the company, this investment will bring the average total compensation to more than $29 per hour when including the value of elected benefits. All seasonal employees will earn a minimum of $18 per hour and have access to comprehensive benefits from their first day on the job.

Sandy Gordon, Vice President of Global Operations Employee Experience at Amazon, stated, “The holiday season is always exciting for Amazon and our customers, and it’s a time when we create a lot of new jobs for people who want to earn extra money for a few months or kick off a career at Amazon.”

Amazon is offering a range of positions to cater to various schedules and career aspirations. Amazon’s benefits package for full-time employees includes:
