Christmas in Monaco

When I think about Christmas in Monaco, it brings back such fun memories of exploring the city with my friends. Monaco may not have snow, but it knows how to create that magical holiday vibe in its own unique way.

Pretty Lights Everywhere

Starting in late November, Monaco turns into a Christmas wonderland. The streets sparkle with lights, and Casino Square is the centerpiece. The massive Christmas tree in front of the Casino is so beautiful, surrounded by lights and decorations. My friends and I loved taking photos there – it felt like stepping into a holiday postcard.

The palm trees were wrapped in lights and gave everyone a warm, tropical holiday feel. Even without snow, Monaco had all the Christmas spirit.

Exploring the Christmas Market

One of our favorite spots was the Christmas Village at Port Hercule. It was full of cute wooden stalls selling handmade gifts and holiday snacks. We treated ourselves to crepes, Czech sweets, and mulled wine while exploring the market. Everything was glowing with lights, and it was such a cozy atmosphere. And if you want a bigger christmas market, Nice is just 20 minutes away!

There was even an ice-skating rink with a view of the sea! We also took a ride on the Ferris wheel – it gave us the best view of all the holiday lights.

Shopping and Holiday Sales

Monaco knows how to do holiday shopping. The stores in Monte Carlo were full with gorgeous holiday gifts, and the sales were amazing. It was the perfect chance to find gifts. My friends and I had so much fun exploring the shops and we spent everything there. We also tried a holiday brunch by the sea, and it was such a great experience.

Balancing Exams and Holidays

As a student, December was a mix of studying for exams and enjoying the holiday season. But honestly, the Christmas vibes made everything better. My friends and I would prepare for the exam during the day and then head out to the market or Casino Square at night. There were also student parties, which made December even more exciting. However it was still hard to relax when you have 10 exams coming up every day for 2 weeks.

Christmas, Monaco Style

What I loved most about Christmas in Monaco was how it combined holiday cheer with sunny weather and sea charm. You could start your day with brunch by the sea and end it walking through streets glowing with Christmas lights.

Monaco showed me that you don’t need snow to feel the magic of the season. Spending Christmas there with my friends was an experience I’ll always remember.
