Communication has broken down on a project and I feel like I’m being shut out

I’m (23M) in a sales ops rotation right now and am working on an automated lead nurturing project alongside our CRM lead for a few of our key businesses. The DoL is basically my doing the copywriting and team communication and the CRM lead handling the technical aspects like our email service provider and CRM platforms. I wasn’t getting much of a response on my work from the product marketing team we’re helping right now, though I repeatedly asked for feedback and requested a bi-weekly check in to go over my contributions and outline next steps.

After almost three weeks of near radio silence despite several attempts to get feedback, I decided to take things into my own hands and started moving forward with the approval process for some of the marketing communications I had made. When I announced my intentions to submit my work to Technology and Legal to get approval and that I had already gotten positive responses from a couple sales reps and engineers, the product marketing specialist we’re working with immediately sent me a furious message saying that I and the CRM lead needed to go through her for everything related to her business area. She also told us to cancel our meeting with brand and comms, saying that it’s outside their jurisdiction and that the scope of this project as it pertains to her department is completely within her purview. The CRM lead essentially told her to screw off and that we were going to meet with them anyways to discuss the future of the project.

Despite my frustration that she hadn’t been communicating and belief that I was doing the right thing by being proactive and regularly updating people on what I was doing, I recognize her authority in this department and that she could simply terminate the project’s involvement in her business area if she wanted to. So, I tried very hard to be as apologetic and humble as possible, emphasizing that I simply wanted to help out and stay productive, but once again my requests for feedback and a check-in were ignored. She is having meetings with people in sales to get their feedback but I am apparently not welcome to even listen while they give critique about my work.

I just don’t know what to do at this point. I apparently don’t have the ability to do anything independently, but I’m not being looped into regular communication and my requests for more collaboration and guidance have been snubbed again and again. And while she can’t forbid us from meeting with people, the CRM lead isn’t really making things better by doing exactly what she asked us not to do when there’s not even an immediate need for it.

Is this a normal occurrence in corporate environments? How can I proceed in such a dysfunctional, non-communicative situation?
