BFC Architectural Metals is a well-established metal fabrication shop which serves local, national, and international customers from our production facility in SeaTac, Washington. We are a hard-working group of folks who work collaboratively and love taking on diverse and challenging projects. We are growing rapidly and now seeking an experienced fabricator who is a great fit with our collaborative culture to grow with us in this exciting time.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication: TIG welding & MIG welding steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys. Basic machining experience desired but not required. High aptitude for problem solving, ability to read and interpret part drawings great organization, prioritization, and time management skills. WABO certification desired but not required.
Experience in metal fabrication.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Work with and report to Production Manager.
Work with other production staff as needed.
Produce high quality, accurate work.
Review and provide input on design and details.
Operate fabrication tools including but not limited to TIG welders, MIG welders, saws, grinders, sanders, shear, and punch.
Hands-on fabrication skills and deep understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, cutting, grinding, shearing, brake forming, punching, waterjet cutting, machining, painting, and finishing.
Ability to comprehend and use Architectural Drawings, construction Documents, Fabrication Drawings and Cad Drawings.
Extensive knowledge of equipment and fabrication tool usages.
Knowledge and understanding of CNC fabrication machinery and its operation.
Ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.
Ability to perform and pass a weld test.
Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effective verbal and written communication.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such dimensions and tolerances. Ability to apply concepts of basic math including fractions and decimals.
Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, orally, by diagram, or schedule format. Must be able to identify problems and implement effective countermeasures.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk and hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud – hearing protection is always required on the plant floor.
