Nursing Scholarships
Scholarships for future nurses can be found when searching strategically. If you are a student in search of nursing scholarships, keep reading!
Nursing is a hot career right now, and many students are looking for scholarships to help pay for school.
In my searching, I have found that the best sources of nursing scholarships are found in your home state.
For example, The American Legion sponsors several scholarships for current and future nurses, but you must apply to your local chapter.
Just google “American legion nursing scholarship <insert your state here>,” and you should find the scholarship information for your state. When I went to the American Legion site for my state, I found several scholarships, and not just for future nurses. Yes!!
Remember, any time you can narrow down a scholarship to your own state, that automatically means FEWER students are applying (only students in your state and not the whole country are trying to win that scholarship) and a GREATER chance of winning for you.

Nurse Recruiter Nursing Scholarships
NurseRecruiter.com offers scholarships for nursing.
TravelNurseSource.com Nursing Scholarship
Open to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or Ph. D. in nursing at an accredited U.S. nursing school.
Goldman Babboni Fernandez & Walsh Scholarship
All students entering the healthcare field can apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship is open to students in health careers, such as pharmacy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, medical technology, medical and dental students who have completed their first professional year (pre-med students not eligible), and students studying to become registered nurses or nurse practitioners.
Geraldine “Polly” Bednash Scholarship
This scholarship is for nursing students in bachelor’s or higher programs.
Dr. Mark Austin Scholarship for Medical Students
Open to undergraduate students who are already actively pursuing degrees related to healthcare, such as nursing, pre-med, or public health degrees. Also open to high school students who have plans to study medicine or other healthcare subjects at the university level.
Killeen Chiropractic Scholarship
Open to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science, health, or nursing with future intent to join the medical field.
Open to students currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
Nursing students (applicants must be in an accredited program leading to initial licensure as an RN), baccalaureate, master, and doctoral candidates with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher are eligible for these scholarships.
WCI Medical School Scholarship
This scholarship is open to undergraduate professional students enrolled full-time in a professional school located in the United States for the 2023-2024 year and in good academic standing are eligible. That means medicine, osteopathic medicine, podiatry, dentistry, law, pharmacy, optometry, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, CRNA, anesthesiologist assistant, or veterinarian. Also, physical therapy and occupational therapy students if the program leads to a doctorate degree. (No residents).

FNSNA Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Undergraduate scholarships are available here to students currently enrolled in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, direct-entry master’s degree, RN to BSN/MSN completion, LPN/LVN to RN, or accelerated programs.
WiseGeek Nurse Appreciation Scholarship
This scholarship is meant to support nurses and encourage more young people to consider a nursing career. The award will help current or aspiring nurses pay their student loans or tuition.
DAR Nursing and Medical Scholarships

Open to an aspiring nurse who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program at a college or university, or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate nursing program.

Lamber-Goodnow Law Team Scholarship for Nurses
A $1000 scholarship is offered open “to a driven, caring and compassionate future nurse” from this law firm.
The AACN (American Association of Colleges of Nursing) has many scholarships listed on its website.

Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship
Students can apply for this scholarship if they demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the following majors: Athletic Training, Psychology, Biology, Kinesiology, Nursing, General Medicine, Dentistry, Behavioral Sciences, Personal Training, Physical Education Teaching and Coaching, Health and Physical Fitness, Exercise Science, Sports and Recreation Management, Health Sciences, Physical Therapist, or another health-related major.
This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are interested in any healthcare field and are currently in college.
Sharps’ Compliance Scholarship (May not be open for 2024)
All students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited university in healthcare-related studies can apply for this scholarship.

GoodRx Healthcare Scholarships
There are several different scholarship opportunities for students in the healthcare field found here.
Open to U.S. students enrolled at an accredited high school, college, or university in the United States. Students must be in their final year of high school or enrolled at the undergraduate level in “good standing.” Open to students in all majors, but “Any student planning for a medical or veterinary career is especially encouraged to enter.”
Future nurses qualify to apply for this scholarship, which is focused on students enrolled in medical, culinary, and aesthetics courses.
Open to those who will be full-time students (enrolled in at least 12 credit hours) at a college or university in the United States between the dates of August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024, and are currently enrolled as a nursing student or has received an acceptance letter to their school’s nursing program. This usually includes nursing students from current high-school seniors to college juniors.

Estela Arco Scholarship for Healthcare Students
Open to students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in healthcare-related programs. (Medicine, pharmacy, nursing, biotechnology, or any other field within healthcare.)
Hayley Rayburn Nursing Scholarship
Applicants must be planning to attend or currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution or technical vocational/trade school to pursue a degree in nursing.
Laborde Earles Cancer Scholarship
Open to students in the fields of medicine, public health, or other related fields. Applicants for this scholarship must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
