“As part of the initiative to support Indian students in USA, the Consulate has developed a platform for Indian Students to search for internship opportunities at companies in the USA,” the Indian Consulate in New York tweeted in a post on X.

User-Friendly and Accessible:
The new platform is designed to be user-friendly and easily accessible to all Indian students currently enrolled in US institutions. By simply registering on the platform, students can browse through a wide range of internship opportunities tailored to their academic backgrounds and career aspirations.
A Response to Growing Demand:
The need for such a platform arose from the increasing number of Indian students pursuing higher education in the US and their quest for meaningful work experiences. According to the Open Doors Report (ODR), the number of international students from India to the United States has jumped by over 35 per cent and resulted in an all-time high of 2,68,923 students in the academic year 2022-23..
How It Works:
The platform connects students with various organizations across the US that offer internship programs. It features:
- Search Filters: Students can filter internships by industry, location, and duration.
- Application Assistance: Resources and guides to help students prepare and apply for internships.
- Feedback System: Students can provide feedback on their internship experiences, aiding future users in making informed decisions.
Several Indian and American companies and organizations have agreed to offer deserving Indian students for internship opportunities, the Consulate in New York said, referring to the Indian Student Resource Portal.
With the launch of this platform, the Consulate General of India in New York is taking a significant step towards supporting the professional growth of Indian students in the US.
