*Job description*

As an Assistant Manager of the Corso Italian Restaurant, you will be responsible for:
* overseeing a team of 50+ Team Members, operating the Front of House and ensuring that all are well equipped with the tools and knowledge for performing everyday tasks.
* ensuring that the Restaurant operates within the provided parameters (i.e. Staffing levels, Food/Beverage costs), while identifying new ways to improve the development of the business.
* working alongside Human Resources by interviewing, training and coaching new Team Members while carrying out training and development to all staff members. Health and Safety will also be a propriety of the Manager by ensuring proper sanitation and cleaning standards are upheld.
* leading by example and assist Guests with any requests in a calm and professional manner, while empowering Team Members to take ownership of Guest issues when they arise, and ensure that all Guests feel cared for, valued and respected.
* working very closely with the Chef & Sous Chef of the Restaurant to help execute any of the Restaurant functions or events that take place.

*Essential Functions*
* Communicate Food and Beverage supply orders to the Food Stores department per the needs of the Restaurant (Front of House ? Kitchens are done by the Chefs)
* Manage Team Members, including forecasting staffing levels; interviewing; training per Job Skills Checklist, assigning breaks, coaching, counseling, and disciplining; monitoring and developing work performance.
* Track employee attendance.
* Ensure that all company memos are conveyed to the team members and that they are up to date on all relevant information.
* Complete other administrative tasks using Navision, Microsoft Office, Timesaver, and Micros systems.
* Checks and ensures appropriate levels of inventories are maintained at the proper temperature and stock is rotated to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover.
* Ensures compliance with health and safety standards in all aspects of the front of house areas.
* Participates in all hotel meetings inclusive of but not limited to Team members and F&B
* Assist the Team by taking Guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system.
* Monitor the Point-of-sale system by ensuring purchases are accurately totaled, processed and collected, as well auditing opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure knowledge of all food & beverage products and promotions and specials are properly communicated to all Team Members

*Experience, Skills and Requirements*
* Minimum 5 years previous front-of-house experience; fine dining experience is an asset
* At least 3 years previous supervisory or managerial experience
* Smart Serve certification
* Strong leadership skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
* Superb communication skills
* Ability to stand continuously and occasionally lift up to 30lbs.
* Is guest obsessed and promotes the team to be.
* Availability to work flexible hours as including evening, weekends, and holidays.
* Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel?s satisfaction.
