The University of Europe for Applied Sciences is a state-of-the-art UE Dubai Campus at One Central, Dubai World Trade Centre.
This landmark occasion signifies the founding of the first German university in the UAE, heralding a new academic and cultural exchange era between Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
The grand opening ceremony featured esteemed guests such as Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of Germany in Dubai; Her Excellency Aisha Abdulla Miran, the Knowledge, and Human Development Authority (KHDA)’s Director General; and Professor Maurits van Rooijen, President of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences and its Dubai Campus.
Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of Germany in Dubai, shared her excitement about this milestone, remarking, “The opening of the first German private university in Dubai introduces German academic excellence to the UAE, especially in the dynamic city of Dubai.
We look forward to this milestone’s positive contributions to the UAE communities. The Consulate General will continue to support the UE Dubai Campus in building collaborations with German businesses, brands, and communities.”
Her Excellency Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of the KHDA, welcomed the university with the remark, “The establishment of UE Dubai Campus is a significant step in the UAE’s journey towards a high-quality higher education ecosystem, benefiting the city’s diverse student body.
We expect the university to shape future thinkers and innovators who will contribute to Dubai’s growth and development in alignment with the D33 vision.”
Professor Maurits van Rooijen, President of UE Dubai, shared his thoughts on the university’s launch, “The opening of the University of Europe in Dubai is a landmark event, not only for unveiling our academic offerings but also for establishing a gateway to innovation and excellence in higher education outside Germany, particularly in Dubai, the Middle East’s thriving business and innovation hub. We thank all partners who have supported us, highlighting our ambition to serve as a pivotal socio-economic bridge. We look forward to welcoming our students and are committed to providing world-class education, paving the way for their personal and professional development.”
Officially recognized by the Brandenburg Ministry of Science, Research, and Culture in Germany, the UE Dubai Campus offers an extensive array of programs tailored to meet the contemporary workforce of Dubai and the rest of the UAE.
These include:
- MBA in Diplomacy
- Master of Science in Software Engineering
- Master of Arts in Visual & Experience Design
- Master of Science in Data Science
These Master’s programs are available in standard track (2 years) and fast track (1.5 years) formats.
Starting in September, the university will also offer two Bachelor of Science programs:
- Business and Management Studies: Preparing students for the global business environment.
- Digital Business & Data Science: Equipping students with the skills to thrive in digital-centric industries.
The UE Dubai Campus has forged strategic partnerships with prestigious German organizations in the UAE, including DHL and the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK).
