District School Board of Niagara <p>Invites applications for the following position:<p>Transition to Employment Worker One full-time position<p>35 Hours per Week; $25.28 $29.90 per hour<p>Deadline for submission is 4:00 p.m. on May 15, 2024<p>General Job Description: <p>The position aims to assist individuals who identify as having a disability, secure and maintain employment. The successful applicant will be client centric, outcomes driven with a background in employment services.<p> Typical duties of this position will include, but are not restricted to the following: Work 1-1 with individuals who identify as having a disability and are facing a number of barriers to employment, secure and maintain employment for 12 months;<p> Assess employability of clientele and prepare an employment plan based on that individuals needs; outlining a plan of action to secure employment;<p> Foster potential in clientele by providing hands on support during pre-employment training, employment seeking and on the job training and retention support;<p> Cold call, build and develop relationships with Employers and job develop to support clientele in connecting to appropriate job openings and accessing the hidden job market;<p> Travel across the Niagara Region to meet with clientele at a location operated by the DSBN and/or in public spaces most convenient for them; reducing barriers to accessing service;<p> Maintain accurate files, documentation and complete administration responsibilities as needed, including; entering and updating case notes in a client management software, follow strict file guidelines, use and update an electronic calendar, update shared spreadsheets using OneDrive;<p> Build resumes and cover letters individualized to the client, apply to jobs, support in interview preparation, support with on-boarding of clients in the workplace and on-going support of clientele throughout their employment as needed for 12 months after securing employment;<p> Develop client capacities by assisting in their independence and supporting in their independent job search outside of client meetings;<p> Maintain a heavy caseload without sacrificing quality of service; meeting with clientele on a weekly to biweekly basis until employment is secured;<p> Work in partnership with other Service Providers, receiving and administering referrals in a professional manner<p> Promote and market program and DSBN to community partners and develop strong relationships with other Service Providers;<p> Work in a team environment, fostering the growth of team members and work collaboratively to support clients<p> Other duties as assigned. <p>Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum College Diploma in Social Services (or equivalent);<p> A minimum of 1-2 years experience working in Employment Services, ideally with multi-barriered individuals;<p> Experience in case management, addressing barriers, setting goals and meeting allocated service targets;<p> Strong digital technology skills and comfortability with MS Office, CaMS, other case management software, email, online job searching/application;<p> Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and a positive customer experience;<p> Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with clientele, follow up, maintain relationships;<p> Be adaptable, flexible and driven to achieve positive personal and team outcomes;<p> Access to a reliable vehicle for regular travel throughout the Niagara Region;<p> Able to obtain a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.The contract position is anticipated to start on June 10, 2024 to March 31, 2025 with the possibility of extension based on openings and funding renewal.Applicants are asked t
